| Our first shows went well. I was actually not that nervous by the time we started to play. Chase says I need to be more confident. So I guess thats on my to do list. Hopefully we will play alot more shows soon, it was fun.

| So this summer I am most likely going to Japan for about two months. All I need now is 3,000 dollars, and I'm actually not really worried about it. I think it will come together, that is a nice feeling.
I feel the need to explore. Michigan is nice enough but there are things that I need to see. It would be nice to have someone who feels the same way around me, the future (or anything outside of lansing) is rarely talked about in my circle of friends. In some ways its nice to have that comfort I guess, and I'm sure that if I left I would miss it.
Iv'e also been looking into volunteering overseas a little more seriously. Since it's through the internet I'm worried about credibility so I'm starting to realize it might take me some time to choose an organization. | its crazy what music can do to you. our fried joel gave wendy and i a recording of our old band at the lansing underground. whenever i listen to it my arm hair stands on end and my stomach hurts. its not because of the quality of the music, because it was pretty bad. the singing vocals by matt and i are almost painful to listen to.i think it makes me remember all the amazing conversations and worship that i got to have with our friends and people i didnt know. there was such a good community then. im not complaining, were all older now and have responsibilities. when we started that band i was about 15 or 16, but i remember it like it was yesterday. the way that i thought about things was pretty messed up, i think im alot wiser now but it was at a cost. it's just that i cant decide if the cost and profit balance out. it is a strange place to be at.
other than fixating on pointless things ive been at somewhat of a crossroad. i really want to move away from here, and im also interested in doing some mission work. as far as that goes im more into helping peoples physical needs and having conversations, not really the bible school approach. they are both functional but thats just not what im about i guess.i am interested to see how i will handle that kind of an experience because im pretty much expecting to be on my own. just recently i started really looking into my options and my brain is going to explode. the strange thing about it is that the whole idea to do this was inspired by one conversation and i get let it go. so i wont. | | comments: 4 comments or Leave a comment |
| yes this weekend has been awesome. there have been two major conversations that i have benefited from. it becomes interesting when you try and combine your political views with your moral convictions. should i stand up for what i think is right? if its right for me should it be right for everyone else? thanks to chase and my brother i was challenged and ive been thinking about these things pretty much all weekend. at first i felt embarrassed because someone caught me being intolerant, but the more i started thinking about it the more i changed my mind. its good that i was caught. in some ways ive always wanted to appear sound in these matters, but i really wasnt. finally someone caught me contradicting myself outloud, and what better person to do it then my brother.
i dont think that i would have changed if i hadnt been caught basically. its not that i didnt want to, its just that i didnt know.
today at work was weird. this guy gave me a knife for a tip. hmm.

| practice last night was good.booler is helping us work out the kinks, i think he will be a good addition to the band. i dont think that our madball cover will be ready for the show (to the drizz'z dissapointment).
i think the theme for the week is hope, and no matter how many odds are stacked against me im not letting that go untill its time.

its my first one
yes last night after hours under the needle i came home to a suprise b day party.it was amazing!thank you so much, this was the best b day ever!!!!!! props to doo, rutt, and amy (for planning), and nate/jessie for providing the baseball batt for the smashing of the pinata. mark and ryan came from far away it was good to see them. ron got me sweet games and the new usher. also booler, bon, seleck, chris, shain, chase, curtis, and of course the blake were all there. i was tricked! love! | | comments: 5 comments or Leave a comment |

| Mutiny played our first show, it was fun. Everyone and their mom was there from the old days. very nice.
In the past week iv'e been sticking my foot in my mouth ALOT. It seems like in the past I had somthing called tact, and i want it back. Even aside from the tact issue the things that are coming out of my facial hole are not encouraging or helpful. I know what needs to be done but for some reason Ive been lacking the motivation. Maybe a solution for now will be to not talk.
Dude.....money...it's not cool. Iv'e been trying to take my financial responsibilities a little more seriously, and its working. Uncle sam will have his bling soon. Death and taxes man, thats all there is. just kidding.

| tonight was the jam. a bunch of us went out to put put after riverview (thanks to danish for the hook up) and i rocked everyone in my group. on the way to the green we took explicit pictures of matt clay and booler doing interpretive dance to andrew wk. nate was my replacement date while blake was out of town, and he is living proof that chivalry isn't dead.

| so i'm training to be a bar tender. this should be very interesting. today i learned all about shots, mixed drinks, and laws. apparently it's illegal to get someone drunk at a bar. the second they leave your bar you are responsible for them. i seriously did not know that.it works out great for me because i don't want anyone to get drunk anyway, and that means i get to bar people!(which gives me the chance to use the sweet muscles i'm going to have after me and wrecking ball pump iron)

| top gun is such a good movie.
